In Fabruary of year 1971, I introduced with the sector as the shareholder of the “Tokel Kollektif Şirketi Hamdi Tokel ve Ortakları”, as the Exclusive representative of the company which is the exporter employer Zapp Fortuna GmbH/ the German company, produce stainless steel and special alloyed and all other steels, whose current name is “ThyssenKrupp Stainless” work as a steel importer. By joining the mentioned company personally as a full and only representative, I undertook all of the duties and responsibilities dealing with representations. By the start of year 1977, I established the company Asal Steel Representative and Trade Co. In 1980 by the combination of Stahlwerke Südwestfallen AG company with Krupp Iron Steel Industry, with a horizontal pass, I continued the exclusive sales represantative of the special alloyed steel and stainless steel products of Krupp in Turkey. In 1994, this time by the combination of Krupp and Thyssen Iron Steel Companies, again by a horizontal pass, I continued my job at the companies as the Exclusive Representative of flat products, firstly at Krupp Thyssen and then at company called as Thyssen Krupp Stainless. Between the years 1994-2001, I provide the affiliation of the German company to my company as Asal Steel at the rate of 49. From the year 2002 to the end of year 2005, I carried on this job succesfully at the own investment projects of the German company. By the year 2006, as the Thyssen Krupp Germany confined all of its activities on TK-Eurinox company which was established by them in İstanbul earlier, I finished my 35 years of relation with them by mutual friendship and understanding.
 
The foundation aim of PASDER and its founders
 
In order to continue being profitable for Turkish Stainless Steel sector 35 years of knowledge and experience – by mutual decision and the idea support of all European Stainless Steel producers and EURO INOX union, with the companies which are major and serious establishment for this sector, I founded PASDER – Stainless Steel Society in December 2006. Saritas Steel Industry and Trade Co. , Thyssen Krupp Eurinox, Outo Kumpu İstanbul, Uginoz Arcelor Group Industry and Trade Co., Saritas Foregin Trade and Marketting Co., Betinoks Stainless Steel Ind. And Foreign Trade Co. Borsen Pipe Industry and Trade Co., Borusan Stainless Pipe, Öztiryakiler, Alp Metal, Tokel Stainless Steel Industry and Foreign Trade Co. And Lema Steel are take place among our members. The foundation aim of our society is “ Developing and spreading of the steel usage in our country”.
 
Following the foundation of our society:
 
In March 2007, I was invited and participated inEuro Inox – Brussels Marketting Comitee negotation representing our society. EURO INOX – Brussels who is the European Stainless Steel union suggested membership to our scoiety into their organization. We made our formal application. Our membership was accepted on 1st November 2007 by Euro Inox.
 
In various dates my reviews were published in Stainless Steel adding of Dünya Newspaper.
 
In June 2007, I was invited to Steel Orbis - Iron Steel Conference as a speaker on behalf of our society which took place in Istanbul Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel. I offered information about the past, present and future of Stainless Steel in our country to the notables of the foreginers and the sector.
 
On 01 – 03 November 2007, I was invited to IV. Iron Steel Congress as a speaker on behalf of our society at Karabuk University by Mr Dr. Veysel YAYAN who is the secretary general of Iron Steel Producers Union. I offered information about the situation of stainless steel in Turkey.
 
I was invited to first “Marketting Commitee Meeting”of year 2008 which was held by Euro Inox Brussels .
 
Our membership application to ISSF – Brussels World Stainless Steel Forum Organization will be negotiated at board of directions in May 2008 and our membership going to be verdicted.
 
We were invited to ordinary board of meeting of Euro Inox Brussels Union 2008 as we are a member. I was charged by our society board directory to participate in the board meeting in Helsinki on 10th June.
Turkish version of our website www.turkpasder.com was came into usage in March 2008. English sections are under construction, and going to come into the usage of the users till the end of April 2008. By the links take place in our website, you can connect to all our members, to the websites of foreign soceities that we signed in.
 
As PASDER, we will get the applications of our members in short term till the end of year 2008. We will take into account all of the applications following the charter changes verdicted in board meeting at the end of year 2008.
 
In order to spread the usage of Stainless Steel, we will organize seminars about this issue, and participate in the the fairs where the stainless steel products are displayed. For instance; our member Oztiryakiler, within Professional Kitchen, participated TUSID fair. Besides, I have provided the printing of the catalogues and brochures translations which include techincal data dealing with Euro Inox and ISSF, and delivered to the relevants in sector. This service is giong to continue as solve the problems at all sections of sector.
The year 2007 and Stainless Steel Sector
In year 2007, stainless steel sector had troubles because of the inconsistency at the raw material quotations. Problems of the production sector became bigger at the sale of domestic market as required measurements did not applied in order to prevent unfair competition. It is a reality that the goods Far East origin besiege domestic market producers. It is seen that the authorities in Turkey did not take enough care for this issue, regarding to the term that European countries take drastic measures against Far East countries. The export of Turkey origin goods especially whitegoods and other qualifieds make our industrialists hopeful fort he future.
 
Stainless Steel production throughout the world
Stainless steel raw material – semimanufacturers are produced in especially in European countries and South Africa, USA, South America – Mexico and Brazil with Asia and Far East Countries and exported to Turkey. Regarding to the data of year 2007 calendar days World liquid stainless steel production is about 28 million tones. New investments of present satinless steel producers, especially at far east countries, will meet the demand increase easily which is about 5 or 7 anually.
 
The importer identification of Turkey – the idea of domestic stainless steel production
 
It is thought that half integrated institutions going to be established in Turkey. It was planned to reach anually about 100.000 tones of production till year 2010 at the Dai Yang company from South Korea which was established in Corlu Private Zone in 2006. But, we see that first investment speed was highly decelerated. As 300.000 tones of production of Turkey was noticed by the Turkish entrepreneur that half-integrated institutions are going to be projected in a few years regarding to the some hearsays. Establishment of full-integrated institutions in Turkey requier some decades as I already told in my previous interviews. In both investments “Know How” is the basic problem. Productive companies in the world who give production Know How are definite. All of these companies must care their profits. Turkish intrepreteurs with whom they cooperate should be careful, alert, and sensitive. I think that import progress is normal and necessary in our country even if production is held. Production of each kind of satinless steel by each producer -apart from some European producers- can not be mantioned. Therefore, it wil be reasonable to think that the production in Turkey depends on the export partially. We should both produce and export and also continue production. Even most developed countries throughout the world obey this rule.
 
Production rate of stainless steel in our country
 
In developed countries, per person annual stainless steel consumption is 12 or 14 kgs. In our country, regarding to the data of 2007 per person consumption in our country is 4,2kgs. The high consumption rates in developed countries were provided by common usage of satinless steel. This situation is clearly seen at the construction sector. Besides, if we give an instance; we see that İstanbul Municipality used stainless steel at the construction of some of the bus stops. Regarding to the hearsays, some of these bus stops were received mounted as gift aid from some foreign countries. Of course the other usage fields are; Chemist industry and especially nutrition industry and also medical. Anymore, in developed countries, the nutrition production is made at the institutions by the usage of only stainless steel.
 
The advantages of Stainless steel
 
The most important advantage is the long life for economy and being hygienic. Easy clearance of harmful bacteries and microbes are basic reasons of the selection of stainless steel. At medium term – anymore 20 years should not be a long term – becomes much cheaper than its alternatives. Being 100 recyclable and not leading pollution, are among the positive specialities. Today, the junk price of a chrome nickel alloyed kitchenware is about 2.70$/kgs. By this way, we can count the economical value adding easily.
 
Companies who are “Steel Service Center” or think themselves as like that in stainless steel sector
 
Stainless Steel Service centers are one of the importants of the sector. This centers should think how a service is expected rather than “ I did and it is ok” idea. They should carefully evaluate the demands of the producers. It is doubtless that today’s small producers should change in following 10 years, and if this change turn into the positive way, the tendency to the service centers will increase. By this way, the requirment to the service centers will certainly increase. Vicious circle of service centers as buy-sell or buy-cut-deliver are not a good way of service. Service center’S evaluation of the demands and problems of the producers who are their customers, keeping adequate stock, helping customers at tecnique issues are necessary for them to survive and continue their activity. Service senter should find very good suppliers among abroad raw mateiral producers. None of the service centers show a development and compete bu spot buyings. The meaning of the compete, as it is name; Service is made by – SERVICE- . Only price competition is though anymore a primitive idea and seen at the second plan. In our country, copmany numbers have been increasing who pass over these as idea and application. This is an joyjul phenomen.
 
Fluctations occurs at the prices of satinless steel
 
Iron and steel – as a raw material- are at the first row among the metals that all countries and people need. The increase at the prices is the basic reflection of processing the - supply and demand –principle. World population increases day by day, people in different countries more or less demand more affluence. Affluence means a better life standard. Ways to achieve this are: Having a good place, taking enough food to nutrition, furniture, whitegoods, automobile and etc… having more products. In order to provide these all iron and steel, especially stainless stell, is required. Prices in the wolrd and all countries for all kind of metal increase and going to continue increasing. Turning back can not mentioned. If it is asked where does the situation arrive: arrival will be only to the God. The destiny that God show is the most acceptable destiny.
 
Finally; “Global warming, carbon diocsite emission, abolishment of the forests by human and besides the forest fires throughout the world, unconciously usage of artificial fertilizer and hormone at food production, our efforts to abolishment of the benefections given by God and break the balance of the nature, divert us to the definite destiny”.
